Today (October 6, 2011) I learned that I'm a lucky recipient a Washington State Artist Trust Grant, which will provide modest but much appreciated financial help for the research and writing of my novel-in-progress, tentatively titled Bunker Hill. Thanks to the Trust and the taxpayers of Washington!

Ryegrass, a bluegrass band in which I play mandolin (and sing!) will be performing Sunday, 8/21 at the Snoqualmie Railroad Days Festival in Snoqualmie, WA at 3pm.

More Ryegrass gigs in August--8/27 at the Maple Valley Farmers' Market , 8/28 in Black Diamond, details to come.

My story "Burglar Boy We Need You" was featured this month (April) as the Story of the Week in the e-journal Short Story America. (www.shortstoryamerica.com)
